Pasteurization process has the purpose to destroy hazardous microorganisms in the milk and increase consumer safety. Furthermore the process of removing microorganisms and enzyms is to increase the shelf life of treated milk.The process may be continuous or in batches. Batch pasteurization is usually used in smaller dairy plant, the continuous process is common for the dairy and food production industry.Raw milk comes through the milk reception into a holding tank feeding the pasteurizing system. It is then treated by heat exchangers heating milk to the needed temperature. The milk keeps the temperature depending on the wanted process for a period of time  and is then run through the cooling section.
